Not only were my scrambled eggs from breakfast some of the best ones I’ve had in a long time, but my lunch of salmon quiche and pizza dinner were excellent too. The ice cream we got for dessert was great too.
We began the day with a scenic drive to Kylemore abbey, where we stopped at a small store to get gifts for family members.
Once we got to the abbey, we walked around and looked at the beautiful scenery surrounding it, as well as the gorgeous old house that it was built in. The “house” was more similar to a castle such as the Joslyn Castle in Omaha, but much bigger and fancier. After that, we walked to the Mini Gothic Cathedral, which was built by the owner of the house as a memorial for his wife. It had lots of beautiful stonework and big windows.
We shuttled over to the garden and got some gorgeous views of the lake before heading back for lunch. We stopped at the gift shop, and got some incredible fudge and chocolate made by the nuns who live there. We made our way back to Galway for dinner and dessert.
